What is Nutritional Therapy?

What is Nutritional Therapy and what exactly does a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) do?

NTPs look at the body as a whole by taking a holistic and natural approach to health and wellness. The scope of practice for NTPs is to create personalized, bio-individual, recommendations that focus on the Foundations of Health: Nutrient Dense Whole Foods Diet, Digestion, Blood Sugar Regulation, Fatty Acids, Mineral Balance and Hydration. In addition, improving sleep quality, and reducing stress levels and environmental toxins. All of these elements build upon each other to help your body heal and to live your best life.

So, what can you expect with Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is a personalized bio-individualized approach to health. It is not a one-size fits all program. It is based on finding the root cause of symptoms and is not a quick fix or a treatment or diagnosis. Nutritional Therapy has an emphasis on education and empowerment. It is about eating nutrient dense (REAL) food and not a restrictive diet plan. Nutritional Therapy is a collaborative client-practitioner relationship; we work together towards your health goals.

One of the most powerful assessment tools I use in practice is called the NAQ (Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire). This is a 320 question assessment that allows me to really dive deep into your symptoms to help identify nutritional and vitamin/mineral needs, and to help prioritize what areas of the body need the most support.

In addition, I am trained in Nutrition Response Testing and Quantum Nutrition Testing which are both techniques that are more commonly known as muscle testing. This skill takes the guess work out of chasing symptoms and finding the cause. It allows practitioners to get down to the root cause of “why” is this happening. I am then able to come up with a specific nutrition and lifestyle program for each individual.

Health is a journey. You didn’t get to where you are over night; it takes patience, will power, and learning to listen to your body’s needs to help undo, repair, and rebuild. By working together, you will feel empowered and educated to start living a vibrant life.

I received my training and certification through the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA).

*NTPs do not treat or diagnose illness or disease.
